Autocross School -- Saturday, June 28, 2008

If you are interested in getting some intensive performance driving experience, with world-class instruction, this is the event for you. The school syllabus consists of classroom time and a variety of driving exercises (with instructors) designed to teach students the key elements of autocross driving techniques, and how to prepare to compete. The will be no competition in the school, just a fun filled day of learning. Lunch will be provided. This event will be limited to just 40 BMW CCA member drivers. The event will fill fast, so register soon.

Beginners, convertibles and roadsters are welcome. It is suggested that students also register for the autocross event on the next day in order to apply their newly learned skills.

Location:	Dick’s Sporting Goods Park – Lots G & H 6000 Victory Way, Commerce City, Colorado 80020
Directions:	From I-70 North or South, take exit #278 northbound on Quebec Street (stay in left hand lane) continue on Quebec approximately 1.9 miles, turn right on 60th Avenue (DO NOT TAKE 52ND OR 58TH) approximately .2 miles turn left on Trenton Street for four blocks then right on Prairie Parkway one block to Victory Way. Make first right into parking lot.
Cost:	$60.00 per student – includes lunch.

Schedule: Plan to arrive prior to 7:30 AM to ensure adequate time for tech inspection.

Preparing for the school:

• Be sure to clean out all extraneous "stuff" from your car and have your gas tank to at least 3/4 full when you arrive.
• Top off coolant, oil and brake fluid levels before leaving the house.
• Inspect tires for excessive wear (worn down to or past the wear bars on street tires, cord showing on "race" tires)
• Ensure battery is adequately tied down by OEM or aftermarket battery tie-down (bungee cords, coat hanger wire, duct tape etc. are unacceptable)
• Bring a helmet if you have one (Snell 2000 or newer).
• Bring a portable air compressor or air tank if you have one, along with a good quality tire gauge.
• Be prepared for any kind of weather. It may be quite cool in the morning and hot in the afternoon.
• Bring a folding chair if you have one to use during the classroom session
• Bring water, Gatorade or other sports drinks. It's likely to be hot and you will get dehydrated if you don't drink enough.
• Wear comfortable walking shoes. During the mini autocross course exercises, students will alternate between driving exercises and working the course (resetting knocked over cones).
• Bring sunscreen and/or an umbrella!

Register for the school:

During registration, you will be asked to class your car and choose a car number. These will not be used during the school, however they will prepare you to compete in autocrosses this season. Once you reach the shopping cart to pay for registration, if you receive an "out-of-stock" error, the school has filled. We will retain your registration information in a wait list in case other students cancel. You will be contacted when you clear the wait-list.
