Hoisting a Brew at the Brewer Collection

Early one Thursday evening, March 20 to be exact, a cold wind blew across the Front Range area and changed the mild day into a shivering one. However, that did not deter the intrepid 60+ RMC club members who came from far and wide (Colorado Springs to Fort Collins) to mix and mingle in the warmth of the hidden garage that houses the Brewer Car Collection. Thanks to Rod Brewer of Brewer Tire who graciously opened his father’s and his collection of special cars to us.

The collection is snuggly wedged into their garage in Arvada and holds over 40 automobiles. It comprises a good collection of post-war Cadillac’s and Chrysler 300s (even Hemi versions). All are licensed, insured and drivable. Some of the unique cars included a Cadillac with a stainless steel roof and metal shot glasses in the glove box, both factory options. This happens to be one of 400 ever produced. The rarest car, however, was the late 1970’s Cadillac Eldorado station wagon. Yes, a station wagon that is one of only 7 ever produced. Despite that it’s a wagon it had a very limited cargo hold unlike today’s wagons and it certainly would not pass as an SAV.

One thing that was evident among the many cars in the collection was the fins to the left and fins to the right, but not a BMW in sight. Well, the outside parking lot had quite a few including Mr. Brewer’s E36, he is a club member, and ones that often are not seen out in numbers greater than one or two like the three M Coupes and four 318ti’s.

With over 60+ club members in attendance on a Thursday night this was one great event! Lots of new folks mingled amongst the many diehard club members. Club member Mark Mauro from The Culinary Caterers Group catered the event with plenty of food, soda and beer. A special thanks to Fred Iacino and Darlene Doran who put on this relaxing and satisfying event.
